She and Trevor find themselves stranded without money but in a town where people are very friendly and willing to give them work so they can earn money to move from Virginia to New York. This story has a lot going on in it and I am sure you will enjoy reading it.

There was very much everything except love.there was no substance to it. Too many couples and no action. E ending was very weird.
In this book Adrienne is trying to get away from a marriage her father is forcing on her. She takes the train and is robbed. In the process of escaping her father she trips and causes Trevor to fall with her off the train. Then the twists and turns to the story begin.
I just couldn't put down my kindle. I read it in two sittings. I would recommend this book to all my friends and family.
As I type this, I'm at least 2/3 through the kindle edition. The phrasing is clunky, and the dialog is worse than stilted. Even going by the standard of bodice-rippers, it's tedious. The only reason I'm finishing it is because I'm this far through it already, I might as well get my money's worth and slog to the end. It could do with a good go'round with an editor.
Anyone familiar with the Perils of Pauline era romance, this might appeal to you. Story pacing is a bit jerky, and it starts slow, but as the story progresses it gets more laughable. The hero and heroine are meant to be likeable, and they are, for paper doll figures. The lesser characters are more developed, but none of them are very believable. If you're paying money, don't waste any on 'Romancing Adrienne.'
This wasn't a bad read, but since it is a "period" novel, its my expectation that the language should align to the period represented. This requires research and attention to detail. This series constantly surprised me when the characters used language that would only have been used in more recent times. This was distracting.
Terrible dialog, and certainly not the level of writing one expects from this author. I read both "clean" and steamy romances. I read Georgette Heyer in my teens, and still enjoy rereading them today. However, being sweet and clean does not have to mean that it reads as though it was written by a 14 year-old girl. Just a pitiful excuse for a book. If you want sweet regencies, then there are some very enjoyable for ones out there. Unfortunately, this book is not one of them.
